Shakti Love Notes
We are always growing. I love that! And the more I grow, the more I recognize how important it is for us all to share what we're going through.
So these Love Notes are a space for me to share with you each week-- about the studio, my life, how our community is growing.
It's that time again… a brand new year! I've never been one for resolutions, but I do have a yearly ritual that has carried me and offered direction and perspective for a decade now. That practice is intention-setting. It's different that a resolution, because a resolution implies there is something to be resolved, fixed, something that is not right needs to be made right. Resolutions are the old way of doing things, and we’ve got to reimagine new ways of doing things- new ways of being.
My experience with intention-setting feels like it creates an opening for new ways of being in my life each year.
Are you ready to create a new way of being?
I invite you to drop the New Year, New You mentality this year. You don't need to lose any weight. You don't need to be 'more interesting.' You don't need to prove to anyone that you like to read. You don't need to resolve something in order to be a better person...
And while an intention alone can't make changes happen, the energy of an intention can be potent, and that energy can inherently propel the actions and awareness necessary to make big shifts.
So, it's quite simple. Choose a word. Set your intention. See where it takes you. There is no right or wrong. There are no good or bad words. You can’t fuck this up. Then you can post your word on your refrigerator to see it every day or write it on the last day of your planner so you don't see it again until the year ends. You choose.
+ In a single word, what can be your guiding intention for the year?
Sit with it. Write it down. Clear it out. Speak it out loud. Act in alignment with it.
Create your own new way of being.
My intention word for the year is MAGNETIC 🧲 ✨
I can't wait to see how your intention comes to life for you this year!

1- Vote! Tomorrow is the Senate run-off election - Don't forget to vote!
2 - Stay aligned w yourself! This time of year can feel overwhelming and like we gotta reinvent ourselves over night. Not so! Here are a few great instagram accounts to follow/go to/refer to if you're feeling overwhelmed or need a good resource for the anti-diet work you're doing ❤️ A bunch of them have great posts that counter the "new year new me" mentality

Ruby here :) I am so excited to announce what I've been working on behind the scenes in 2020, and it starts with the offering listed below. (More coming soon!)
This project takes my passion for leadership, personal development and growth to the next level and my deepest desire is that it does the same for you.
The Self-Study Program is a 9-month deep dive into your Self through guided personal development, accountability and care.
Together, we will explore, develop awareness, and cultivate practices of self-care so that you can more intentionally and intimately show up in your relationships, and your community.
This offering was developed from a desire to offer the practice of inquiry outside of the studio. It's for anyone who's ready to commit to self-discovery in 2021. No prerequisites / No 'experience' necessary / No pressure - it's a monthly live-stream virtual program with a go-at-your-own pace option, community support via Slack, and guided journaling and meditations to support your self-exploration.
I am thrilled to offer this program as a culmination of the last decade of my own self-study and alongside my dear friend Kate Moore and her equally committed self-study practices throughout the years. I truly believe that this is the inquiry and accountability you've been looking for. It starts in March, and if you register before February 1st you'll get a free Way of Being shirt.
I'm so excited to see you there!
