The Shakti Shine - January 19th, 2021
Shakti Love Notes
We are always growing. I love that! And the more I grow, the more I recognize how important it is for us all to share what we're going through.
So these Love Notes are a space for me to share with you each week-- about the studio, my life, how our community is growing.
The magic happens in holding space for both.
I've been considering for the last few weeks what it means to stay present, informed, in tune with the news and happenings of the world AND stay regulated, nourished, centered and connected to Self. Honestly, this has been one of the biggest lesson of the last ten months. I tend to want to do everything all or nothing, but holding space for 'both, and' offers the opportunity for sustainability, intentionality, and care.
I'm still trying to figure it out.
But what's working for me right now looks kinda like this:
- Listen to The Daily
- Listen to @chani.app
- Go for walks / spend time outside
- Prioritize real meals & lots of water
- Read the major news headlines (read stories when appropriate)
- Limit time on social media
- Amplify marginalized voices
- Journal
- Day dream (a lot!)
- Talk about major happenings with people I know & trust
- Talk about nonsense with people I know & trust
- Watch something that makes me laugh
- Donate to causes I care about
How can you hold space for 'both, and'?
How can you stay connected & informed AND center yourself & regulate in your physical here and now?
Listen to the voice memo below for more thoughts on this and reply with 1 thing you'll do this week to stay up-to-date and 1 thing you'll do to regulate.
I'm grateful to be here with you-- one step at a time. <3

The Self-Study Program is a 9-month deep dive into your Self through guided personal development, accountability and care.
I am thrilled to offer this program as a culmination of the last decade of my own self-study and alongside my dear friend Kate Moore and her equally committed self-study practices throughout the years. I truly believe that this is the inquiry and accountability you've been looking for. It starts in March, and if you register before February 1st you'll get a free Way of Being shirt.
I'm so excited to see you there!
