At Shakti, equality and inclusion are fundamental values, and we're committed to making our practice accessible. To support this vision, we've made some updates to our scholarship program, ensuring it aligns with our mission to support our community while maintaining the sustainability of our business.
Why are these changes being made? These changes are essential to support our scholarship program while ensuring Shakti remains a thriving local business. By implementing these adjustments, we can continue to offer equitable opportunities while sustaining our beloved studio.
When will Shakti Scholarships be offered? Starting May 2024, Shakti Scholarships will be available at the beginning of each semester: January, May, and August. We will continue to provide scholarships through the semester as they are available.
3. How many scholarships will be available? Shakti will have a limited number of scholarships. While new scholarships will be offered throughout the semester, we will allcoate $1500 per month towards our program. This decision is based on our current scholarship data and what is feasible for our studio.
4. How will scholarships be dispersed? Scholarships will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis. If the scholarship limit is reached, a waitlist will be available.
5. What changes can I expect in the application process? Our new application will include additional questions aimed at understanding your needs better. These questions are not meant to validate your eligibility but to assist us in supporting you effectively as a student at Shakti.
6. What scholarship options will be available? There will be four scholarship tiers: $55, $70, $85, and $100. If you require a more accessible price, our team will be available to discuss the best way to support you.
7. Is there anything you're asking of scholarship holders? We view our scholarship program as a practice in creating a more equitable world. We kindly request that you answer honestly and consider the value of your practice when deciding your monthly payments. Remember, we're in this together, and your honesty is greatly appreciated.
8. When can I expect my scholarship renewal email? Summer applications will go out May 1st, Future applications will be sent to all scholarship holderโs via email at the beginning of each semester.
