Shakti Love Notes
We are always growing. I love that! And the more I grow, the more I recognize how important it is for us all to share what we're going through-- even (and especially) me.
So these Love Notes are a space for me to share with you each week-- about the studio, my life, how our community is growing.
The importance of self-care is that it is the fuel for self-love.

My favorite part of this is that self-care can be different or the same day-to-day, even moment-to-moment. There's not a right or wrong way to care for yourself.
Most weeks my self-care looks like getting on my yoga mat, 8 hours of sleep every night, go for a walk with a podcast, cook a nourishing meal, drink a juice every day, pay my bills, do my laundry...
But part of self-care as fuel for self-love is that it shouldn't necessarily be the same every week.
Last week my self-care looked like this: go to Vegas with my aunt, barely sleep, and dance for hours every day. I ate what I felt like, drank what I felt like, and lost track of time.
I feel rejuvenated.
... and a deep appreciation for myself.
And I think that's what self-care means. Because I definitely love myself more when I listen to the present moment and give myself what I need... right here, right now.
ways i have practiced self-care:
laugh
sing in the car
budget
travel
sit with a friend
cook a full, nourishing meal
practice yoga
write my goals & dreams
follow instagram accounts that inspire transformation
leave my phone at home
drink coffee alone in a coffee shop
cry / weep / sob
take a bath
meditate
be pissed off and talk to someone about it
sleep a lot
sleep a little
eat dessert for dinner
jump around
listen to music
take vitamins
tell myself 'I love you'
touch my body
sit close to someone
deep breaths
solve a problem
ask questions
drink a green juice
set clear boundaries
say no
say yes

This weekend our team will practice together & do the work to access bigger leadership at Shakti and in our community. It's also a glimpse into The Leadership Retreat happening later in October and open to all.
(Saturday 12 & 4:30 power hours are cancelled)
